The promotor of this project in Moratalla wanted an alternative to the standard American style housing projects promoted by the Moratalla Urban Plan. Moratalla is a beautiful mountainous territory in the NW of the Murcia Region. We proposed a project for an EcoHotel experience with very little visual impact on the territory, with extremely low water use, low energy use throughout the building life cycle using local materials, solar energy production, respect for local flora and fauna, and new methods for streets and paths that have minimal impact on the existing ground.
This project is currently in the developed design stage.
The “huerta” of Murcia is the river flood-plain, with fertile arable land, usually planted with orange and lemon trees, and is very characteristic of the region.
The building occupies the south facade of the plot, with the garden to the north. The living room and kitchen on the ground floor, open out to the garden with large doors. The bedrooms on the first floor have large openings that are shielded from outside view and from noise by the terrace parapet, while allowing views of the “huerta”.
This building was completed in 2016, a 2,750 square metre office building in Nigeria´s capital, Lagos. The building is set out over 2 storeys, measures 75 metres by 18.5 metres, and was custom-built by Red Sea Housing in Ghana, and then shipped to Lagos in twenty shipping containers. Ancillary buildings were constructed using more traditional local building methods. Furniture was designed and made to measure, using CNC technology in Lagos. Total contract value was over 6 million USD.

Complete rehabilitation of an old building in Murcia.
The supporting structure of load-bearing walls has been maintained in order to preserve the interior space, keeping the distances between slabs of about 4.5 meters.
The homes of the first and second floors have been replaced by professional offices, while those in the third floor were completely renovated using the space below the new zinc roof to get two luxury duplex apartments with terrace.
This is a house designed for a plot of land with magnificent southerly views over the city. The southern façade allows those views to enter the house, while providing deep shade.
Vista verde is a group of six houses on the slopes of the Carrascoy National Park overlooking the city of Murcia. The houses combine total privacy with spectacular views, and make very good use of the sloping site.
Each house has approximately 290 useful square metres of floorspace, with a double garage, terraces, a 70 square metre lounge, four bedrooms, each with bathroom. The design aims to follow the natural contours of the site.
